Narrowbanding Two Way Radio Licenses Mandatory
What is Narrowbanding all about?
If your organization owns or operates a two-way radio system, you need to be aware of the facts concerning Narrowbanding. Briefly, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has issued a mandate that states all Land Mobile Part 90 two way radios in the VHF and UHF frequency bands must operate on 12.5 kHz or narrower channels by January 1, 2013. Failure to comply means your license will be in violation of the FCC Rules and you could be subject to FCC enforcement action, which may include a monetary fine, admonishment or loss of your license. If you are currently operating two way radios and do NOT have a valid FCC license, call us immediately!
